Seeing the animals in such small confinements is really disheartening, and I wish the city would do more to expand the zoo so that the animals could have more rich and vibrant enclosures that mimic their natural environments much more.

So if you're there for an event, or you have kids, it'll be a good half day or 3/4 of a day. But if you're an adult just going because you enjoy conservation or seeing happy animals, this probably isn't the place for you. I'd hold out for Henry Doorly in Omaha.

I just find it more and more frustrating every time I go that the city refuses to give up its golf course so that these animals don't have to live in tiny cages. That's what I end up thinking about every time I go away from this place.

A lovely little zoo that has come a long way since my children (now 19 and 25) were regular patrons. A lot to see and do but you can easily get through here in a couple of hours. If you're a local, go for the membership. It is a far better deal than the cost of a single admission and there are reciprocal zoos where you can use your membership all over the U.S.

In the summers I recommend checking out Zoo Brew. A fun evening for adults only. Make sure to also stop by when the keepers are doing their animal talks. You can see the animal (usually) a lot better and learn a ton of great facts!

Nice zoo. It's small which my family loves. You can see the whole zoo in about two hours. The kids love going every December to see Santa and his reindeer at the zoo. And night eyes is always fun at Halloween.

The zoo is clean and always has good programming going on. It's also good for children. However, it's a small Zoo, so as I've gotten older I've wanted to go less and less.

This zoo is the perfect size to either take a morning or afternoon with the family. The have both inside and outside exhibits and plenty of animals to see. They've also recently had quite a few babies born within the zoo, which is very exciting!

We love visiting here it always seems like they have something new going on. Let's to keep the kids busy and interact with in the animal pens are always clean and well-kept. Food and drinking options are spread throughout the zoo very family-friendly.
