Very cleaned up gathering of stores accessible only from the outside entrances. This is not a walk-around-inside mall.
Mall needs some more stores, or some more interesting stores. The old Southridge Mall was better if you ask me.
The Target has just been completely remodeled and is actually very nice now.
It's fine if you just need a Target run or don't want to venture to the west side.
The inside of the mall is declining, but they have done a decent job at trying to cosmetically update and modernize the outdoor area and create a strip mall type of feel. With recent updates to both the Hy-Vee and Targets (including 2 new Starbucks in each), this area has some great shopping opportunities for the area.
Not what it used to be; what is though. ARL is awesome! Great free thing to do with kids under 10 is go and just walk around inside the mall.
It's worth a stop if you happen to be on the south side of Des Moines.
